There are different options when taking the first step towards becoming a paragliding pilot, for example:
- Pilot for a day, or
- A tandem flight, or
- Register for the upcoming Ground course
Pilot for a day
Register for an introduction day to paragliding (also called "Pilot for a day") and experience your first steps in paragliding. During the day, you can experience what it is like to take a paragliding course at PG Klubben and get more information about the course. Alternatively, you can come to a non-binding info meeting before the start of the course.

Tandem flight

If you are convinced that you want to learn how to paraglide and become an independent pilot, than taking a ground course is the first step to begin your paragliding journey! During the course, we will progressively teach you about paragliding. You start by learning how to control the paraglider on the ground (called groundhandling), and how to take off and land safely. As you progress, you learn how to handle the paraglider in the air and how to fly in lift and thermals. We complement the practical sessions with theoretical lectures about flying, aerodynamics, meteorology and good airmanship. The course follows the international guidelines from SafePro Para, as well as the DHPU teaching method.
The course starts in Denmark, where we will fly on different locations in and around Sjælland. The location of the theory sessions are often near Køge. Once a year in June, we go on an educational trip with all students to Austria. Participating in the trip is necessary for students to become an independent paragliding pilot (SafePro Para level 4), since some exercises require thermal activities or height to safely perform.
Participating in ground course costs 8,500 kr, which includes the club membership fee, DHPU annual fee & insurance.
Students can pay the amount over 5 months with 1st payment of 2,000,-.
Students can participate at a reduced rate 3,700 kr, if they want to use their own equipment. The equipment must be approved by a PG Klubben instructor before participating in the ground course.
Payment must be made prior to the course (IMPORTANT! due to rating card and mandatory third party liability insurance).

The students are themselves responsible/liable for the club equipment they borrow.
The following is NOT included in the course price
- Personal accident insurance
- Transport to and from flying spots
- A week of flying in the mountains 🙂
- Everything else not mentioned under the course price 🙂
During the course, you must bring
- Boots with ankle support
- Gloves (not too thick)
- Hard helmet, e.g. ski helmet, skate helmet or similar. Helmet can be purchased at a favorable price if needed.
- Practical clothing, preferably in layers, so you can take it off and put it on
- Water and food on the course days.
